I’m a huge fan of food markets. When I have a day off, I like to stroll over the market for hours to buy fresh products like veggies and fruit, but I also love to buy olive oil, honey, olives and cheese on the market. Paris has many markets throughout the whole city, but the ones below I visit often.
Marché Biologique Raspail
My favorite organic market with more than forty market stalls with the best organic fruit, vegetables, bread, pastries, cheese and wine. Not very cheap, but the products are great!
Address: Boulevard Raspail between rue du Cherche-Midi and rue de Rennes, 75006 Paris
Opening hours: Sunday from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm.
This market has been around since 1921 and is located in the fifth arrondissement and has a village atmosphere. The extensive range of local regional products makes this place extra special. And you can find the best cheese here!
Address: Place Monge, 75005 Paris
Opening hours: Wednesday, Friday and Sunday from 7.00 am to 2.30 pm.
Metro: Place Monge
This famous market street is located in one of the most romantic areas of Paris. (it’s even described in Hemingway’s A Moveable Feast!) Take a stroll through this picturesque street and buy everything you need for a delicious, homemade lunch. Drink coffee on one of the terraces and feel like a real Parisienne.

Marché des Enfants Rouges
This is the oldest covered market in Paris and dates from 1628. The market sells fresh products such as vegetables, fruit and bread, but there’s also an opportunity to buy lunch at one of the vegetarian, Lebanese, Japanese and Moroccan food stalls.

Metro: République or Arts et Métiers
One of the most vibrant markets in Paris. This place is both an outdoor market and a covered market. Traiteurs, vegetables and fruit, wine, cheese and fish, it’s a food lovers paradise. Come early in the morning and drink a cup of coffee on one of the many terraces after shopping.
