“Paris is always a good idea.” – Audrey Hepburn
What a time are we living in. Unfortunately, COVID-19 isn’t still under control and a lot of countries are back in lockdown. So no traveling again, even a short city trip isn’t allowed. But what if you have a terrible Paris addiction and an insatiable craving for Paris? The only solution for now is to bring Paris into your home. With the ideas below you will definitely get that Parisian feeling back.
Emily in Paris.
I think everyone has already watch the tv show Emily in Paris, but when you think; ‘Hey, I don’t know that one yet…’ Then please, drop everything you’re doing right now and go immediately to Netflix to binge-watch the ten episodes. I’m really curious what you think about this show. And good new: there will be a season two!
Prepare a perfect French breakfast in bed for your sweetheart (or cat).
French breakfasts, or petit déjeuners are the best way to make you feel like you’re in Paris. No overnights oats or a healthy smoothie, no, in Paris we go for sweet and delicious.
A Parisian breakfast starts with fresh and warm croissants. Get them from the bakery or make them yourself. To prepare a good croissant takes some practice and time, but with this amazing explanation on weekendbakery.nl you can give it a try. If you don’t have the time or you’re in a lazy mood, because it is a Sunday morning, go to a good bakery to buy croissants and don’t forget to bring some pain au chocolats too.
Of course a fresh baguette is also a must for a good Parisian breakfast. Think about that warm, crusty bread with a slice of organic butter (with or without salt) or your favorite jam, which you of course call that morning, la confiture. My favorite flavors are cherry or fig. Yum!
And with a latte or a real chocolat chaud, you can find a recipe in this blog from 2019, your Parisian breakfast is ready to eat.
And hopefully you can read the English version of my novel Bestemming: Parijs! (Destination: Paris!) soon. We’re working on it.
